Swaby at Pantages and Fantasy Fashion Show at Gallery 1313
Swaby
So I went to the Swaby F-List designer event at the Pantages Hotel with Tudor and Miss Coko Galore.
Since Coko had her camera and just about every other person there was a photographer waiting for people to show up and make something happen, I didn’t bother to take pictures. (Sorry. I’ll add them later when other people get around to posting them.)
The event was sponsored by Belvedre but the drinks were so watered down, we thought we were drinking Kool-Aid.
Shernett Swaby was super nice and super tall. Since Lucian was actually short in real life despite looking massively tall on Project Runway Canada, I thought that Swaby would be short too. I felt like a midget beside her.
I wasn’t impressed with her clothes. It looked a bit too crafty in the amateur sense. Everything lacked a certain sense of being finished that I like in my clothes. I guess I can call it professionalism. Coko thought half the stuff looked like Bedo stuff and I agreed with her. There was a tutu dress eventually decided that I liked but I think at that point I was graping at straws.
As we were leaving we ran into Carolyn and Danielle, who both came from other (much better) events.
A photographer thought that we were famous fashion bloggers and took pictures of us.
Fantasy Fashion Show
We arrived at 9-ish (invite said 8-10PM) and we were surprised to see that the show had already started. This was the first time I’ve been to a fashion event where I was the late party. Usually these things are hours behind schedule so you can pretty much waltz in whenever you want.
As we bursted through the doors, the show was fully underway. It was super windy and we made so much noise that the model paused mid-walk and Robin Kay’s daughter staged-whispered “Oh no you didn’t!”
Man, we were so embarrassed.
Strangely enough, when Tudor bursted through the doors and looking as bewildered as Coko and I probably did, Robin Kay waved him down to sit beside her and her daughter. It was weird seeing Robin so relaxed about latecomers, during Fashion Week she gives any stragglers the cut-eye.
The show was a lot of fun.
This poor dandylion girl got stuck in the dressing room doorway.

That model was pretty unhappy.
My favourite piece was by Joanne Jin. I love the hair.

What a gorgeous model.
Afterwards, Coko picked up a limited edition t-shit beneifiting Gallery 1313. I don’t remember who it was by and I guess it doesn’t really matter.
I saw some of the usual photographers at fashion events. I think they are sick of seeing me too.
I met the owner of shopgirls . She had wicked glasses.

I promised that I would stop by later.
Since Gallery 1313 was a part of my OAAG Tour, I took additional pictures of the space.

It was warehouse-y in the way of inner-city galleries. I prefer Windsor’s space.

It had a portrait of Che, of course… because Che and fashion goes together so well…

I decided to randomly type my name in the search engine on google and for images this was the first thing that popped up. I’m so flattered to hear my piece was your favorite. Thank you for including me on your blog!
